Step 2: Features: Selecting and Configuring

When organizing an event in Resiada, one of the key steps is selecting and configuring features that align with your event's unique needs. This process allows you to customize the platform to enhance the overall event experience for both organizers and attendees. Here's a guide to help you navigate through the feature selection and configuration process.

Accessing the Feature Selection

  • From the Event Navigation bar: In the back office, click on ‘Manage’, located on the right side of the event navigation menu. Click on ‘Features’ in the dropdown menu.
  • From the Event Setup: In the event setup wizard, click on the ‘Features’ tab.

Optional Features

Based on your event's specific requirements, you can activate a range of optional features:

  • Minimum Nights: This feature allows you to set the minimum length of stay required for reservations, helping you manage accommodation more effectively.
  • Payment Methods & Deposits: Enables the selection of various payment methods and the ability to enable or disable deposit requirements, offering financial flexibility.
  • Cancellation Fee: With this, the admin can set and implement cancellation fees for reservations, providing a way to manage changes and cancellations.
  • Multiple Languages: Enhances the booking website by displaying it in multiple languages, a feature particularly useful for international events.

Remember, some features may lock and become unchangeable once reservations start.

Always Available Features

Resiada also includes several standard features:

  • Wait Listing: Manages waitlists for fully booked sub-blocks, ensuring no attendee is left out.
  • Integrations: This feature allows for integration with various systems and platforms, streamlining the event management process.
  • Discount Codes: Offers the ability to provide discounts, an effective way to attract attendees.
  • Access Codes: Controls access to specific sub-blocks or rates, ensuring targeted attendee management.
  • Advanced Reporting: Enables detailed and customizable reporting, essential for tracking event progress.
  • Bulk Reservations: Facilitates the process of making multiple reservations simultaneously.
  • Dynamic Sub Block Groups: Allows for dynamic management of sub-blocks, offering flexibility in accommodation management.
  • Customized Rates Per Source: This feature provides the flexibility to set different room rates depending on the reservation source.

Note: Features like Wait Listing, Discount Codes, and Bulk Reservations are not available for open blocks.

Contracted and Open Block Inventory

  • Contracted Inventory: Ideal for more controlled event planning, enabling reservations with pre-agreed hotels.
  • Open Block Inventory: Offers flexibility for late bookings, allowing reservations in an open block of hotels post the cut-off date. Note that the Payment Step is omitted in open block-only scenarios.(see Open Block: Pros and Cons)

Making the Right Choices

When choosing features, consider the following:

  • Choice and Dependency: Match your feature selection with the event's scope and needs, keeping in mind the interdependencies of various features.
  • Flexibility vs. Control: Decide between Contracted and Open Block based on your preference for control over reservations or flexibility for late bookings.
  • Feature Activation: Some features cannot be deactivated once reservations begin, particularly those linked to the inventory type, so choose wisely.

Selecting and configuring the right features is crucial for tailoring Resiada to your event's needs. This ensures a seamless and efficient experience for organizers and attendees alike.
